Starting Again

One week off and back to the gym again, have been feeling a bit depressed guess its the no smoking stuff going on.

Still have managed 1 week without patches so I have been clean for a while now must almost be 4 weeks since I gave up smoking.

I have also noticed I am starting to get the munchies that I know from passed experience is nicotene withdrawl

Definatley a fast walk

After Friday’s testing of weights I have enough lactic acid in my body to stop an elephant, Boy does it hurt.
Saturday was going to be a slow and steady 50 mins walk to build up a fitness base in the end pushed myself and ended up doing 5km in 42:10.

I must learn to moderate my efforts still I was able to jog for 10 mins without stopping only at 7.5km/hr so not that fast but it is a start.

I will start to creat a training schedule next week as well as some stretching exercises.

I found two heart traing belts but the batteries had gone in both so need to find some battereies that work.

I have decided to aim to get my 5KM time down to 35 mins in 8 weeks that should be acheivable along with biking.

Stiff and Tired

After yesterdays exertions i am feeling a little stiff, perhaps I need to work on some stretch exercises.

Will be going to the gym tonight will try the bike and work on some gentle aerobic exercising.

Running or is it a fast walk

Whatever it is I managed to do my 2.45 mile loop in 34.05 mins, the interesting thing is that I am starting to notice my lactate threshold so whenever I approached this I was able to ease back.

I also managed to jog very slowly for a total of 8/9 mins slip into 3 sessions the first jog being about 4/5 mins then a short one of 1.30mins and finally a period of 3.05 mins on the tarmac.

I also feel I could do more at the end but used the time more as a cool down than anything else.

I did some stretches at the end.

Calf stretch against the wall

Isolated each hamstring stretch

and Finally hamstring bent over stretch

Need to find a heart rate minitor so I can observe wher my lactate/heart rate level is at the moment for training

Still feeling very good after session

Easy does it

I have just totted up yesterdays calories and realise that as this is a life changing process. I must pace myself this is for the rest of my life and not just for today.

Meet the new me

Ok Started using Nicorette patches 25mg on Saturday 7th August 2010.

As of today I have yet to have a cigarette good news. I have noticed that I am a little bit tetchy some would say “Bad Tempered”. So good going so far, just onday at a time as they say.

I aslo am on a fairly strict diet in the region of 1500 calories which I will keep updated as I go along as well as a log of weight, measurements, pictures and training schedule.

First Cycle today 2 miles boy did that hurt lactic acid build up or what still it has to be done.

Problem was hadnt ridden my bike for over 1 year tyres had gone down so had to find bike pump which then had to be mended before it would work still managed it all and had a short ride.
